The Manley Dual Main EQ and Manley Dual Mid Band EQ take that philosophy into a new generation of professional analog processing. The Dual Series as a Complete EQ System
The two processors were designed to complement one another. The Dual Main EQ handles the lows and highs, while the Dual Mid Band EQ concentrates on the midrange, allowing the pair to cover the full frequency spectrum with a consistent sonic character.
Together, they form a powerful analog master-bus EQ system, yet neither unit requires the other to be useful. Each is a fully capable standalone processor for individual sources, stems, buses, mix buses and mastering chains.
Passive Inductor-Based Equalization
At the heart of both units is a passive inductor-based EQ topology. Rather than relying on active gain stages within the equalization circuit, the passive networks create broad, natural and highly musical curves with an inherently interactive response.

Both Dual Series EQs use a high-voltage all-tube signal path featuring 5751 input tubes and 12BH7 output tubes to restore level while contributing the dimensionality, harmonic structure and headroom associated with Manley‘s tube designs.
Custom, in-house wound Manley Iron transformers on the input and output stages further shape the character of the signal. They contribute weight, transient density and sonic authority, helping the EQs deliver a result that extends beyond simple frequency manipulation.

The Dual Main EQ is designed to provide authoritative low-end weight, open and musical highs, and dimensional depth. Its passive topology allows broad tonal shaping while maintaining the cohesive character expected from a high-end analog EQ.
With true stereo dual-channel operation, the Dual Main EQ is equally at home across a mix bus, mastering chain, stereo stem or individual source. Its extended bandwidth, high output capability and substantial headroom make it suitable for demanding professional analog environments.
The unit supports both Left/Right stereo operation and Mid/Side workflows when used with an external M/S encoder and decoder. There is no internal M/S matrix, allowing engineers to integrate the EQ with dedicated hardware or DAW-based M/S processing according to their existing workflow.

Manley Dual Mid Band EQ: Focus, Separation and Clarity
The Dual Mid Band EQ takes the same fundamental design philosophy and concentrates it on the midrange. It provides mastering-grade control over presence, clarity and punch while retaining the smooth, musical behaviour of the passive topology.
This makes it particularly effective when a mix needs greater intelligibility or separation without becoming harsh or clinical. Used on vocals, instruments, stems, buses or a complete mix, the Dual Mid Band EQ is designed to help engineers bring important elements forward or create space between competing parts of a production while maintaining musical continuity.

Designed for Mastering — But Not Mastering Only
Both Dual Series EQs are capable of mastering-grade performance, but their applications extend well beyond mastering. The combination of passive EQ, tube amplification and transformer coupling makes them equally compelling on tracking chains, individual sources, instrument buses, stems and mix buses.
Their broad curves and high-headroom architecture make them particularly well suited to applications where the goal is not simply to fix a problem, but to enhance the overall presentation of the source.
Extended Bandwidth and High Headroom
The Dual Series is built for modern professional operating levels. Both EQs provide a frequency response that remains flat within ±0.1 dB from 20 Hz to 22 kHz, with total response extending from 10 Hz to 70 kHz.
Maximum output exceeds +30 dBu, with 26 dB of output headroom referenced to +4 dBu. The Dual Main EQ provides a 122 dB dynamic range, while the Dual Mid Band EQ provides 115 dB. These specifications give both processors the bandwidth and headroom required for demanding analog signal chains.
True Stereo and Dual-Mono Operation
Both units provide true stereo dual-channel operation and can also be used as dual-mono processors. Front-panel L/R and M/S labelling makes their intended stereo and Mid/Side applications clear, while external M/S encoding and decoding can be handled through dedicated hardware or a DAW.
This flexibility allows the same processor to move easily between stereo mix-bus work and more targeted mono or dual-mono processing.
