We are excited to announce the release of the free OB-X8 v2.0 update, launching on July 3rd, 2024. This transformative update unlocks a world of creative possibilities for both new and existing users of Oberheim’s OB-X8.

The OB-X8 has already established itself as a modern legend, and version 2.0 enhances its capabilities further. Here’s what you can expect:
- Binaural Mode: Experience true stereo operation with instant binaural mode that pans individual voices hard left and right.
- Selectable Waveshapes: Extend your timbral variety with the ability to select waveshapes for each oscillator simultaneously.
- New Low Pass Filter: Enjoy a new 4-Pole low pass filter type that offers fuller bass at high resonance.
- LFO Modulation: Utilize new VCO 1 and 2 level LFO modulation destinations for independent timbral mixing.
- Arpeggiator Clock Sync: Gain expanded rhythmic control with arpeggiator clock sync featuring selectable note division values.
- Increased Memory: Store even more sounds with twice the Split and Double memory locations, now including program storage directly in the new banks for a total of 512 more stored sounds.
- Bi-timbral Operation: Benefit from separate MIDI channels for lower/upper split bi-timbral operation.
- Poly Chain Capability: Connect up to 4 instruments for a maximum of 32 voices, enabling epic polyphonic creations.
Additionally, OB-X8 owners can now craft nuanced dreamscapes with MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression).
