A Best-of-All-Worlds Circuit Design

The input stage draws inspiration from both the classic Rev. G and Rev. D circuits, known for exceptionally clean preamplification before the compression stage. The compression section incorporates a FET selected for its tonal character, while the output stage takes inspiration from the Rev. A design.

Clean Tones or Grit and Colour

The combination of these different circuit influences gives the LiN76 MkII a wide range of tonal possibilities.

Driving the input stage while keeping the output lower can produce cleaner tones, while reducing the input and increasing the output can introduce more grit and colour. This makes the compressor useful not only as a dynamics processor, but also as a creative tone-shaping tool.

Custom-Made Transformer

A custom-made transformer forms part of the LiN76 MkII‘s analogue architecture, contributing to the character of the signal path.

Combined with the selected circuit influences and FET-based compression stage, the transformer helps the LiN76 MkII move between cleaner and more coloured sounds depending on how the processor is driven.

Redesigned Compression Circuit

The MkII introduces a completely redesigned compression circuit developed in response to customer feedback and feature requests.

Lindell Audio describes the updated circuit as providing higher performance and low noise, refining the original LiN76 design while retaining its versatility and vintage-inspired character.

True Bypass for Easy A/B Testing

The addition of true bypass makes it quick and straightforward to compare processed and unprocessed signals.

Stereo Linking for Matched Operation

The MkII also adds an RCA stereo-link connection, allowing two LiN76 MkII units to be used together in balanced, matched stereo operation.

Vintage-Style VU Metering
