2024: A Year on the Road

Last year was a whirlwind for Vanguard, with our microphones making waves on some of the world’s biggest stages. From the V44S Stereo Condenser becoming the go-to for live drum overheads (even featured by KTLA at the Rose Parade) to artists embracing our V24 Stereo Tube and V14 Multi-Pattern Tube, we were everywhere—and loving it!

Vanguard had a strong presence at the Grammys! Congratulations to Gaby Moreno for her win (and stunning live performance), captured with our V13 Tube Condenser. The V44S took center stage as the drum overhead mic for both Olivia Rodrigo’s “Vampire” and Miley Cyrus’ award-winning “Flowers” performance. Huge thanks to FOH engineers Brian Pomp and Paul David Hager for trusting our gear on such a massive platform.

On Tour: Olivia Rodrigo, Norah Jones, Avril Lavigne, and More

Olivia Rodrigo’s 75-date 2024 tour kicked off with the V44S above the drum kit, thanks to Brian Pomp. Exciting news: they’ll be back on tour soon, adding our V1 gen2 SDCs to the mix.
The V44S also joined Norah Jones’ tour, providing studio-quality sound for drummer Brian Blade, thanks to CJ Stimpel and Jamie Landry.
Lastly, we teamed up with Paul David Hager for Avril Lavigne’s tour, adding the V44S to his arsenal for superior live sound.

In Memoriam: Ken Avant (1957–2024)
With heavy hearts, we said goodbye to Vanguard co-founder Ken Avant, who passed away in March 2024. Ken’s vision, mentorship, and passion shaped everything Vanguard stands for. As Derek reflects, “Vanguard would not exist without him.” We miss his friendship deeply but continue to honor his legacy with every product we create. Onward through the fog, Ken.
