The Black Lion Audio Auteur DT (Versatile Preamp & DI Box) is a vintage-vibe desktop preamp – with brushed black aluminum chassis that looks great on any desktop, framed with vintage-style translucent maple side panels – that’s perfect for capturing all of your performance details. It features a modern IC-based front-end for fast and transparent sound, vintage-inspired transformer-coupled output stage with USA-made transformer for massive, colourful sound, XLR, Line, and Hi-Z inputs for console-style warmth, -10dB pad, 48v phantom power, and polarity reverse, 60dB of gain, backlit classic style VU meter, and a balanced TRS line output.

Everything! Auteur DT is a fantastic go-to for everything. Its solid-state design is especially wonderful for vocals, electric guitar, bass, and drums. Its fast transient response is great for keeping percussion instruments exciting. The Line / Hi-Z inputs are great for adding console-style warmth to direct instruments, effects boxes, and bus mixes – all while keeping transients intact! Auteur DT was designed to be an affordable option on the marketplace that still provides great sound well above its price point. Though the Auteur DT lacks Cinemag transformers, we’ve still chosen to use a premium USA-made transformer that still delivers massive weight. The Auteur DT is made specifically for desktop use, and does not include rack ears.
