New HEDD Series ONE Monitors by Klaus Heinz, founder of ADAM Audio

Klaus Heinz, founder of ADAM audio has launched Heinz Electrodynamic Designs (HEDD). A Berlin based manufacturer of analog state-of-the-art studio monitors for all segments of music production, broadcast and installation.

HEDD promises to deliver “nearly linear frequency response” with their series ONE line of studio monitors. The series ONE line offers three different models of studio monitors. The nearfield Type 05 and Type 07 alongside the midfield Type 30.

The Type 05 model is a real multitasker. Its strong performance, digital connectivity, and compact size turn it into the ideal choice for mobile broadcast stations, recording studios, multichannel-setups, and VoIP conferences. The Type 05 is based on a 2-way-system that provides a solid fundament and a high degree of accuracy in the frequency range between 44Hz and 50kHZ by coordinating the interplay between a 5“-woofer and a high-resolution Air Motion Transformer.

The Type 07 can be described as a classic nearfield monitor speaker. On first glance, this model’s standard size and classic setup with a 7” woofer and a HEDD Air Motion Transformer do not leave much room for additional technological advances. Yet the careful adjustment of its various components, particularly the way in which casing, amplifier, and diaphragm interconnect, creates a degree of sonic stability, strength, spatiality, and transparency that left the engineers at HEDD amazed, even during the earliest stages of development.

With its 2×100 Watt amps and its extremely well balanced frequency response, the Type 07 monitor sounds much bigger and more mature than its moderate size and sleek design make it appear. It is precisely for this reason that there is hardly a field of audio production, which the Type 07 is not ideally suited for: its clever design makes it an especially good player in broadcasting contexts as well as in recording and mix-down studios.

The HEDD Type 30 is an exceptional midfield monitor that can satisfy all the desires and needs of modern professional studio. The impressive technological facts alone speak for themselves: two horizontally aligned 7”-woofers, 5”-midrange woofer, the HEDD Air Motion Transformer tweeter, and nothing less than 4×300 watts amplification create an ultra-wide frequency range from 30Hz to 50khz. In addition to being super solid and having an extremely high fidelity in the bass and mid range reproduction, the HEDD AMT produces vivid and uncolored high frequency material. This is one fine piece of gear.

HEDD is also implementing the HEDD bridge. These input modules allow users to send audio to their monitors via an Ethernet connection. This will be expanded to include modules providing Bluetooth and USB connectivity. More information on these modules that bridge that analogue and digital worlds will be available soon.
