PBR TRS PATCHBAY

WHAT REAL DIFFERENCE DO GOLD-PLATED CONNECTORS OFFER?

Gold-plated connectors offer a variety of advantages that are important to have in any signal flow – especially in a patchbay system.

Gold-plating improves conductivity across the board – especially when measured over time. Standard connectors are major suspects to oxidation, which will occur over time from moisture, humidity, and even frequent use. Gold-plating guarantees that this will not happen. Oxidation, corrosion, and even friction wear are very typical issues with iron-based connectors, whereas gold is resistant to all of this.

When used in very harsh environments, heat can be an issue with most connectors, as they will wear out much more quickly. Gold, yet again, is much more resistant to this, and provides a better safety barrier to the rest of the connector.
