At the end of 2020, motivated by the hard situation the world was suffering, TIERRA Audio set out to pay tribute to the tireless spirit of self-improvement with which the women and men of the 1920s faced the many difficulties that their particular beginning of the century put in their way.

Years later, that golden decade of our history would be known as “The Roaring 20s.”

After more than a year of research and development, the result of  Esther Gutiérrez and Javier Pascual’s vision – Founders at TIERRA Audio – is a high-end studio and live condenser microphone with a powerful sound and unmatched aesthetics that retains the glamour and elegance of The Roaring Twenties, along with the technological sophistication demanded by this new century.

There are many factors that make a microphone capture and reproduce sound in a more or less transparent or coloured way, with more or less background noise, and more body or flat.

—The electret capsule that captures the sound in the New Twenties is made in the USA from the highest quality materials.

We put the enormous sensitivity of the expert hands and ears that have equipped some of the most legendary and renowned microphones in the industry at the service of your music.

—Two ultra-low noise FET transistors are responsible for amplifying the sound captured by the capsule. The best on the market.

These transistors are hand-selected by our engineers so that their calibration values are perfectly equal.

In this way, the signal is amplified as silently as possible, and the resulting sound is given a fully balanced analog character before the signal is enriched with the harmonic content of the transformer.

—The peculiar line transformer that incorporates the New Twenties provides the imposing harmonic richness of its sound, essential to achieve that unique texture in your voice: rounded, warm, creamy and present.

We know it’s not common to use line transformers in microphones (electronics purists will be pulling their hair out right now), but at TIERRA Audio we are electronics nuts and we love the exciting ‘black magic’ they bring to the enveloping dynamics of the timbre, and the attractive psychoacoustic effect they produce. Sounding good is what matters.

—An anti-pop system like you’ve never seen before:

Our stylish and resistant anti-pop is made of three thin layers of mesh and textile strategically interspersed that progressively slow down the impact of the wind produced by the most conflicting syllables… without altering the sound of your voice!

Forget forever the usual bulky anti-pop systems, effective but complex to position correctly, delicate to transport, and generally annoying and unsightly during music and dubbing sessions that include photography and video.

Our anti-pop is automatically positioned in the right place thanks to its N52 neodymium magnets, the most powerful in the world, coated with an epoxy film that maximizes its durability even in very humid environments, and prevents vibrations and unwanted marks on the surface of the microphone.

—An impenetrable stainless steel shield:

The outer chassis of the New Twenties is made of certified quality 304 stainless steel2.

A real super shield that not only resists the abrasion of aging but also protects the electronics inside from shocks and noisy radio frequency electromagnetic pollution that is so damaging to sound.

—Time-inspired anti-vibration technology:

After 100 years, it had to be possible to design a suspension system for the capsule much more sensitive and discreet than the traditional ones based on large cast iron springs.

The solution was found in the workshops of the best master watchmakers and their precision micro-springs made from stainless steel similar to the strings of a piano, tremendously resistant and with a spectacular memory effect.

The New Twenties rescues from the past the ‘ridges’ where record labels, recording studios, television, and radio stations promoted their name or that of their sponsors.

Showcase the name of your recording studio or radio station, the name of your band, the title of your latest single, the title of your Podcast, your video clip, a #hashtag, or the name of your Twitch® or YouTube® channel.

Each microphone comes with two interchangeable magnetic ‘ridges’, one made of transparent recycled methacrylate and the other of bamboo. You can laser engrave on them the text or logo of your choice.

You can also silkscreen print them in a printing shop or put stickers on them thanks to the digital templates provided by TIERRA Audio.

The new New Twenties is designed and handmade in Madrid, promoting the use of 100% recyclable materials of the highest quality, such as stainless steel or aluminum, and ultra-fast growing woods, such as bamboo. TIERRA Audio also minimise the use of polluting chemicals by laser engraving all microphones and packaging.

In addition, more than 85% of their suppliers and collaborating craftsmen are located in Spain. All of them uphold the TIERRA Audio values of quality and sustainability, helping to keep the ecological footprint of each microphone as small as possible.
