Flea have just announced the release of the ELA M-251 Tube Microphone, a meticulous recreation of the original and iconic ELA M 251, painstakingly crafted to the exact specifications as the original. The Flea ELA M-251 has been designed with a no-compromise approach, employing the very best components throughout and in some areas even improving upon the original specification. Features include:
- Tim Campbell CT12 brass capsule – the closest thing to the original CK12 with an identical sound.
- Hand-selected 6072 tube
- Flea’s very own custom made identical clone of the T14/1 transformer
- Updated electronics based on the revised circuitry of Andreas Grosser, resulting in significantly lower self noise.
- All terminals, contact points and solder-joints have been gold-plated for optimal conductivity and reliability.
