SESSIONDESK SessionbloX SBX sub – Modular Low-Frequency Acoustic Absorption Panel
OVERVIEW
The SessionbloX system redefines how acoustic treatment is approached, offering a modular solution that transforms studio environments into adaptable, reconfigurable spaces. With its innovative tool-free SBX x-connector system, producers and engineers can quickly assemble and modify their acoustic setup—whether building a full control room, a vocal booth, or mobile acoustic panels.
At the core of low-frequency control within this system is the SBX sub, a high-efficiency absorption panel specifically engineered to target deep bass and subsonic energy. Using a specialised design, it effectively reduces low-frequency build-up and standing waves, improving clarity, balance, and overall accuracy within the listening environment.
Beyond performance, the SBX sub reflects a commitment to sustainability and user wellbeing. Free from mineral wool and synthetic foams, it features a 100% natural wood fibre interior paired with a recycled PET surface. This ensures not only excellent acoustic performance but also a healthier and more environmentally responsible studio solution.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS
Targeted Low-Frequency Control
Specifically engineered to absorb deep bass and subsonic energy, reducing boominess and improving mix accuracy.
Modular System Integration
Seamlessly connects with other SessionbloX panels using the SBX x-connector system for flexible configurations.
Tool-Free Assembly
Quick and intuitive setup allows for fast installation and easy reconfiguration without additional tools.
Sustainable & Health-Conscious Design
Constructed from natural wood fibres and recycled materials, free from harmful chemicals and synthetic foams.
Improved Room Accuracy
Minimises standing waves and low-frequency build-up, creating a more balanced and reliable listening environment.
Acoustic Performance for SBX sub
Measured absorption coefficients (α) for the SBX sub. This data represents the efficiency of sound energy conversion at each frequency band.

PHYSICS OF ABSORPTION (>1.0)
Values above 1.0 indicate hyper-efficiency typical of thick, freestanding absorbers. Because these panels capture sound from the front, back, and sides (edge diffraction), they absorb more energy than a flat surface of the same size. For you, this implies maximum acoustic impact with fewer units compared to standard wall-mounted foam.
TEST METHODOLOGY
Measurements were conducted in Berlin using high-precision NTI audio test equipment. The testing environment was a 256m³ fully diffuse reverberation chamber, featuring natural reverb times measuring up to 20 seconds at specific low frequencies, ensuring maximum accuracy in the sub-bass range.
