Bettermaker Stereo Passive Equalizer (SPE) Limited Edition – Stereo Passive EQ with DAW Recall & Automation
OVERVIEW
Legendary Passive EQ Meets Modern Digital Control
The Bettermaker Stereo Passive Equalizer (SPE) Limited Edition is designed for engineers who want the musical character of a legendary passive equalizer combined with the speed and precision of a modern digital workflow. Its audio path remains 100% analog, using carefully matched passive filters, capacitors and inductors to deliver the substantial low end and open, airy high-frequency character associated with premium passive EQ designs. Extended high-frequency boost selections reaching 20 and 28 kHz provide additional control over the top end, while adjustable output gain makes it easy to integrate the processor into demanding mastering, mixing and hybrid setups.
Digital Convenience Without Compromising the Analog Signal Path
Although the audio remains analog, control and user interaction are handled digitally. A dedicated 32-bit microcontroller manages the analog filter parameters, user interface and USB connectivity, allowing rapid, precise and repeatable adjustments, instant parameter resets, precisely linked stereo operation and DAW automation. The dedicated plugin also allows up to 32 snapshots of the hardware state to be triggered through automation, making complex mastering sessions significantly easier to recall and manage. Bettermaker continues to position this combination of analog processing and patented digital control as a core part of its professional workflow.
Exclusive Limited Edition
The Limited Edition was created to celebrate sales exceeding 1,000 Stereo Passive Equalizers and adds more than a cosmetic refresh. It features an exclusive new appearance and comes with a premium-quality carrying bag and Bettermaker certificate of quality, while the accompanying plugin introduces a new saturation engine for additional sonic shaping. The result is a particularly attractive version of the SPE for engineers who want its established passive EQ character alongside enhanced modern workflow and saturation capabilities.
KEY HIGHLIGHTS
100% Analog Audio Signal Path
The SPE keeps the audio path entirely analog, preserving the depth, musicality and character of its passive filter network while digital control handles parameter management, recall and automation.
Legendary Passive EQ Character
Precisely matched passive filters, capacitors and inductors provide the broad, musical response associated with high-quality passive equalization, with substantial low-end shaping and an open, extended top end.
Digital Recall and Automation
USB connectivity and the dedicated plugin allow the hardware to be controlled, recalled and automated from a DAW, combining analog processing with the convenience of a software workflow.
Extended High-Frequency Air Bands
The high-boost section extends to 20 kHz and 28 kHz, providing exceptionally broad top-end shaping for adding openness, air and definition without relying on conventional high-frequency bands.
Precise Stereo Operation
Digitally controlled stereo linking allows both channels to be adjusted together with precision, making the SPE particularly well suited to stereo bus and mastering applications.
Up to 32 Recallable Snapshots
The dedicated plugin can store up to 32 SPE states that can be recalled through DAW automation, allowing complete EQ settings to be recalled quickly between songs or sessions.
New Saturation Engine
The Limited Edition’s new plugin adds a dedicated saturation engine, expanding the processor beyond passive tonal shaping and providing an additional option for introducing controlled harmonic character.
Exclusive Limited Edition Package
Created to celebrate more than 1,000 SPE units sold, the Limited Edition features an exclusive appearance and includes a premium carrying bag and Bettermaker certificate of quality.
