Acme Audio MTP-66 Motown Tube Preamplifier and DI
Step back to 1966 Detroit with the Acme Audio MTP-66 Motown Tube Preamp and DI, a faithful recreation of the legendary 5-channel Motown input box that defined the sound of iconic artists like James Jamerson, Dennis Coffey, and Robert White. Designed originally by a Motown engineer for seamless recording of multiple instruments with minimal bleed, this modern single-channel lunchbox preamp revives that classic tone with an all-tube signal path, hand-selected tubes, and an authentic Cinamag output transformer.
In addition to its vintage instrument-to-line-level preamp, the MTP-66 features an integrated microphone amp inspired by original Motown engineering, complete with a fixed-gain pentode and Acme Audio/Triad input transformer. Unlike the original, this model offers adjustable input and output controls, allowing users to fine-tune their sound, drive, and compression.
