For decades, the NS-10M was the nearfield monitor of choice for countless engineers and producers; and since Yamaha discontinued it, aftermarket components have become less available and more expensive. Avantone Pro is making affordable, direct-replacement crossovers for the NS-10M! Drawing upon their decades of speaker design, Avantone reverse engineered the original crossovers, meticulously reproducing their sound while updating the components with higher-grade materials.
Even better than the real thing
The Avantone Pro AV10-MXO offers several improvements over the NS-10M’s original crossover. First of all, its rear panel was upgraded from plastic to aluminum, giving it better rigidity. Its rear terminal plate employs a higher-grade binding post to ensure the best signal possible. It uses the same value capacitors as the original circuit; albeit with a higher grade of material and rating. That said, it delivers the same sound as the original — its inductors are an exact match for the original in DC resistance, winding dimensions, and value.

The AV10-MXO is a no-hassle “bolt-in” direct replacement for the original NS-10M crossover, requiring no modifications to the cabinet in the installation process. Its wires and spade connectors are already connected for you, so the swap will be quick and easy. Beyond that, the AV10-MXO ships with a replacement gasket to ensure an air-tight seal.
