OVERVIEW

The A500 is the primary monitor in the KSdigital A-Class, featuring a double 10″ bass and a horn-supported tweeter. It functions as a classic 3-way reference monitor, providing high sound pressure and accurate tonal reproduction through KSD’s time-correct sound conversion. The A500 offers an unprecedented level of resolution in the sound image. Proprietary phase-linear FIRTEC™ filters create a precise virtual stage in the panoramic image, setting it apart from other monitors in its class. The dedicated 3″ dome midtone driver brings exceptional detail and clarity to the placement of vocals in the mix.

Similar to the legendary ADM20, the A500 ensures that all frequencies reach the sound engineer’s ear simultaneously, without any delay. This tonal neutrality and timeliness make it suitable for use in all stages of professional production processes, whether it be recording, as a mixed monitor, or as a final reference in mastering.

The two 10″ high-performance bass drivers produce ample bass energy even in larger control rooms, while the patented 1″ compression driver delivers outstanding dynamics and resolution across a wide and deep sweet spot. The 80°x60° horn ensures a linear frequency response, effectively concealing any housing edges and resulting in a remarkably quiet sound.

The design of the amplifiers and power supplies guarantees loud reproduction with minimal distortion. Another notable feature is the converter-free connection of the 3 PWM power amplifiers, each with 250 W RMS power. This direct connection eliminates converter losses and ensures accurate resolution.

Whether digitally connected to the workstation via the analog input with a 24-bit / 192 KHz AD converter or losslessly connected to the workstation, the A500 seamlessly integrates into any studio setup.

The high and low shelves, conveniently accessible on the amp, allow for quick adjustments to the bass and treble, which can be further refined with the optional KSD RC Remote using additional (phase linear) filters, including 6 parametric EQs, delay, level control, and more.

When digitally connected, the KSD RC also provides an M/S listening matrix for separate monitoring of mid or side signals, as well as volume control.
