Avid Pro Tools | Carbon
Avid Pro Tools | Carbon—Built to capture brilliance
A NEW BREED OF AUDIO INTERFACE FOR MUSIC PRODUCTION
Avid is introducing Pro Tools | Carbon — a breakthrough audio interface that represents a new chapter in the company’s history of innovative designs. Pro Tools | Carbon is aimed squarely at artists, producers, and engineers who are searching for tools that will inspire the creative process by streamlining their studio workflow. Avid presents Pro Tools | Carbon as a hybrid production system that merges native CPU with onboard HDX DSP acceleration to make Pro Tools more powerful than ever, and it comprises cutting-edge converters and eight pristine preamps to capture brilliance in stunning detail.
Seamless Pro Tools Integration
Pro Tools has been the DAW of choice for countless industry professionals and amateur recordists for decades, due in part to its intuitive, console-style workflow; expansive routing options; and timesaving production tools including Elastic Audio and Beat Detective. Pro Tools | Carbon optimizes the performance of this already formidable DAW with its hybrid engine, which allows you to use native CPU and HDX DSP processing simultaneously to enjoy latency-free, real-time processing during recording and mixdown.

Connects via High-Bandwidth Ethernet
Ethernet is offering lots of possibilities when it comes to professional audio. With an eye toward the future, Avid forwent creating Pro Tools | Carbon as a USB or Thunderbolt interface. Rather, they opted to equip it with Ethernet connectivity based on the open-source AVB (Audio Video Bridging) protocol. Avid’s version of AVB offers vanishingly low latency and streams audio at 32-bit–float precision.
