The Vanguard VLSM is a heavy-duty, professional-grade shock mount designed to give your mics long-lasting, high-grade support.

RE-IMAGINED DESIGN

Let’s face it – it was high time to rethink the standard “spider-style” shock mount of yore. Vanguard have given an open front to the VLSM, which allows you to position your microphone as close to the source as possible while preventing early reflections from the front 120-degrees.

Vanguard also wanted to get rid of the aggravating experiences with those flimsy elastic bands that come standard with most shock mounts. They get stretched out and saggy, and sometimes snap without warning – not something you want to happen when your mic is in there! Instead, they install aerospace-grade rubberized suspension rings that won’t break, sag, crack, or stretch over time. A precise durometer is used for the suspension rings firmly supporting even the heaviest microphones, while still maintaining superb decoupling properties to prevent unwanted rumble and vibration.

CONSTRUCTION

Heavy-duty zinc and aluminum alloys are employed during the construction of the VLSM. There’s no brazes or welds that can weaken over time. Instead, each component is precision-cast & machined. The swivel is made out of impact-resistant ABS thermoplastic polymer to provide superior friction for the mounting swivel. This will keep the microphone from slowly sliding out of position.

WIDE COMPATIBILITY

The VLSM comes as a standard accessory for the Vanguard V13 Tube Condenser and V44S Stereo Condenser microphones. However, it utilizes a standard M22x1 ISO Metric threading. The VLSM should be compatible for up to 68 mm (2.68 in) diameter microphones with M22 threading at their base.
