Waldorf Music Waldorf M16 – 16-Voice Wavetable Synthesizer with Analog Filters & VCAs
OVERVIEW
The Waldorf Music Waldorf M16 expands on the legacy of Waldorf’s iconic wavetable instruments by delivering enhanced polyphony alongside a powerful hybrid architecture. Building on the original design, the M16 comes equipped with a full 16 voices, offering greater depth, layering capability, and expressive performance for demanding studio and live applications.
At the core of the instrument are two wavetable oscillators per voice, each capable of operating in either Classic Microwave 1 mode or Modern Microwave II/XT mode. These distinct modes provide fundamentally different sonic behaviours – ranging from raw, digital textures to smoother, more refined timbres – allowing users to explore a vast spectrum of sound design possibilities. Combined with four-part multitimbrality, the M16 is capable of producing complex, evolving arrangements within a single unit.
Complementing its digital engine is a true analog signal path, featuring analog filters and VCAs that add warmth, depth, and musical character to every sound. Housed in a robust full-metal chassis and equipped with a high-resolution display and hands-on controls, the Waldorf M16 seamlessly merges vintage inspiration with modern workflow, making it a versatile powerhouse for professional producers and sound designers.
